The Taurachbahn is the highest altitude narrow gauge railway in Austria and a family summer experience in the Lungau. Thanks to the initiative of Club 760 – the association of friends of the Murtal railway, which leased the line in 1982, the historical steam locomotive runs through the Taurach valley in the Salzburg province from Mauterndorf to St. Andrä and return from June until September. Enjoy a rail journey as it would have been 100 years ago while having a fantastic view of the impressive mountains of the Lungau.

This year the Taurachbahn is celebrating its 25 years anniversary including an event from 11th to 13th July 2014.
